About the College
Welcome you all to visit our Mahavidyalaya having it’s green and clean campus with huge infrastructure, playground and swimming pool that attracts everyone.
This institution has started it’s glorious journey as a State Aided College on and from 1970. At the inception, only two Honours Subjects – Commerce and Sanskrit
were taught along with their general courses. At that time this institution initiated it’s teaching and learning in a rice mill at the nearby area of the locality.
The college owes its origin to princely donation from Late Sajanikanta Giri, along with several other contributors. The foundation stone was laid down by His
Holiness Sri Sri Swami Swarupananda Paramhangsa Deva on 26.01.1968. This institution steps in it’s 50th year of its journey in academic excellence. Now it is
running successfully Eighteen Honours courses and newly introduced Six Post Graduate courses. The institution functions smoothly with highly qualified and
dedicated faculty members, needy and motivated students, and efficient supporting and administrative staff in order to carryout time-bound task and synchronize
with the highly automation system in the globalization of higher education. Since its inception, the institution has committed itself to the goal of teaching and
learning in higher education, ensuring quality education in the best possible manner in order to spread the benefit of higher education in a very rural area of

We are all overwhelmed, and especially the authority thanks the MIC, Higher Education, for appointing Sri Samit Kumar Dash, as the President of the Governing Body of the Mahavidyalaya. We, all the stakeholders, feel proud to have such a nice and thoughtful person with clear views towards the entire development of the institution. The institution now starts its next phase to achieve its targets and excellence, owing to some rectification measures in the system, introducing some digitised and complete automation to record the activities as well as preserve them in a digital repository so that it can be accessed and available instantly by every stakeholder, maintaining full security and transparency. With full agreement with the views of the Government, we also give special attention towards the students' regularity and timely completion of the Syllabus, taking examinations in regular mode and publication of the results, though its major parts (Examination and Publication of results) are regulated and controlled by the affiliated University. We have had Biometric Attendance for the Office Staff and Teaching Faculty since 2020; however, we have recently introduced the Student Attendance Automation System (SAAS). Students present in the classroom can only cast their attendance through their Android Phone. We have already commissioned it in classroom attendance practice over the last few days, and it has surprised all the stakeholders that it has functioned smoothly without any problems. With these updates, from the desk of the Principal of this Mahavidyalaya, all students are informed to maintain their regularity in classroom participation to increase teaching-learning efficiency as a whole.
